St. Paul's Episcopal Church is a medium-sized community on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. They have a social justice group called the Micah Ministry, which houses their Green Team. In 2016 they planted trees with support from Interfaith Partners for the Chesapeake and the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay. They have since also acquired solar lighting. They have a 480-square foot rain garden (see right) that captures 48% of the rain runoff from the church building. This directs stormwater away from the Bay and into the ground where it can be filtered naturally and recharge underground aquifers. They have attended the Faithful Green Leaders Training program and hope to improve and expand their rain garden in 2021. They have also invited speakers from Interfaith Partners for the Chesapeake and Shore Rivers to provide educational opportunities to their members.
