Saint Mark Roman Catholic Church is located in both the Little Gunpowder Falls and Atkisson Reservoir watersheds. We have a new Green Team whose goal is to celebrate, respect, and care for our common home, as inspired by Pope Francis’ Encyclical Laudato Si’. In the spring of 2020, 450 trees were planted on the church campus; one of the many benefits of tree planting is helping to reduce stormwater runoff and flooding. The Green Team organized a blessing of the trees in spring of 2021. Saint Mark also recycles throughout the campus. The Green Team would like to engage with and educate parishioners and the community about environmental stewardship through various upcoming events.
