The congregation of Manassas Church of the Brethren passed a resolution in 2001 to become a Creation Care Congregation. Guidelines included with the resolution have been implemented. The Church of the Brethren denomination adopted a resolution on Creation Care in 1991 with additional resolutions on climate change in 2001 and 2018.

Manassas Church of the Brethren holds a Creation Care Sunday each year and has had several Sunday School programs focused on the topic. Last year, several members of their congregation began working on small projects and formed a Creation Care Team. They installed four bird nest boxes across the congregational property, invited Virginia Cooperative Extension to conduct a site survey, and are currently developing a plan for removing invasive species and planting natives. The Creation Care Team presented a proposal to the Church Board to have their congregation sign the IPC Partner Congregation Pledge and it passed unanimously. Future projects will focus on removing invasive species and planting natives on our own property and will involve adults and youth. Manassas Church of the Brethren envisions becoming a Creation Care resource for the community, Prince William County, and throughout northern Virginia.
