Akron Mennonite Church was organized in 1959 as a community focused on peace and justice, following an Anabaptist understanding of the teachings of Jesus. The church belongs to the local Atlantic Coast Conference and the national Mennonite Church USA.

AMC is developing a nature preserve on 4 acres of the church’s property, with native grasses, trees, and, woodchip paths. The preserve will be a resource for AMC, the Diamond Street Early Childhood Center—which serves over 150 preschool students, and the broader community.
